My Dear Friends, Supporters, Volunteers, Donors, and Well-Wishers,

Tonight, the voters of Montgomery County have spoken.

While this was not our time, this is the democracy we cherish, respect, and believe in. The will of the people must always be honored, and I am grateful to every resident who participated in this election and made their voice heard.

First and foremost, I want to congratulate everyone who stepped forward to run for public office. Putting your name on a ballot, opening yourself to public scrutiny, and dedicating yourself to serving others is no small undertaking. Public service is one of the highest honors in our democracy, and it comes with tremendous responsibility.

To those who were elected tonight, congratulations. I wish you wisdom, courage, and success as you work to serve Montgomery County and its residents. Our community is strongest when we remain committed to the values of public service, civic engagement, and respect for one another.

As I reflect on this journey, I am reminded of a belief that has guided me throughout my life:

“Leadership is the privilege of creating opportunities for others to rise, grow, and fly farther than they ever imagined.” — Radwan Chowdhury

That belief is what inspired this campaign, and it is what will continue to guide my service to our community.

To Team Radwan, there are simply not enough words to express my gratitude.

What we built together was never just a campaign. It was a movement—a movement built on honesty, sincerity, integrity, and the belief that government should be transparent, accountable, and responsive to the people it serves.

Over the past months, we gave this campaign everything we had.

Together, we knocked on thousands of doors, canvassed neighborhoods across Montgomery County, made countless phone calls, sent text messages and emails, shared our message through social media, attended community events, organized meet-and-greets, hosted house parties, participated in community gatherings, and engaged residents in meaningful conversations about the future of our county.

We shared our vision. We discussed our policies and priorities. We talked about affordability, education, public safety, responsible growth, economic opportunity, fiscal responsibility, government accountability, and the importance of representation. We listened to concerns, answered questions, and welcomed differing perspectives.

  • Every conversation mattered.
  • Every door knocked mattered.
  • Every phone call mattered.
  • Every text message mattered.
  • Every email mattered.
  • Every social media post mattered.
  • Every volunteer shift mattered.
  • Every prayer mattered.
  • Most importantly, every single act of kindness mattered.

Whether you spent hours knocking doors in the heat and rain, welcomed neighbors into your home for a house party, distributed campaign literature, made phone calls late into the evening, drove voters to the polls, donated resources, shared a campaign post, offered words of encouragement, or stood beside me when the road seemed difficult—your contribution made a difference.

This campaign was powered not by political influence or special interests, but by people.

People who believe Montgomery County deserves leadership rooted in service, transparency, accountability, and results.

  • People who believe representation matters.
  • People who believe that positive change is possible.
  • People who believed that the government should work for everyone.

To every voter who placed their trust in our movement, thank you. Your confidence, support, and belief in our vision humbled me every day.

And to those whom we were unable to convince, thank you as well. Thank you for listening, engaging, and participating in the democratic process. Democracy is strengthened when people come together, exchange ideas, and make their voices heard.

I am also deeply grateful to the many civic organizations, nonprofit organizations, community leaders, faith leaders, advocacy groups, neighborhood associations, and community partners who welcomed us into your spaces and conversations.

Thank you to those who endorsed our campaign, published voter guides, hosted candidate forums, organized town halls, invited us to community gatherings and house parties, and provided opportunities to share our policies, priorities, and vision for Montgomery County.

Your willingness to engage residents, foster dialogue, and encourage civic participation strengthens the very foundation of our democracy.

Through your efforts, thousands of residents had the opportunity to learn about the issues facing our county, hear directly from candidates, and make informed decisions about their future.

Thank you for creating spaces where ideas could be exchanged respectfully, where communities could come together, and where voices that are too often overlooked could be heard.

I would also like to extend my deepest gratitude to every donor, supporter, and well-wisher who invested in this campaign and our shared vision for Montgomery County. Whether you contributed financially, volunteered your time, opened your home, offered strategic guidance, shared words of encouragement, or kept us in your prayers, your support meant more than you know.

While I may not be able to mention every name, please know that every contribution, every act of kindness, and every expression of support left a lasting impact. This campaign was built by a community of people who believed in service, representation, and the promise of a better Montgomery County, and for that, I will be forever grateful.

Whether you made a financial contribution, provided an in-kind donation, volunteered your time, offered strategic advice, prayed for our success, or simply encouraged us along the way, you became an essential part of this movement.

You invested not just in a campaign, but in a vision for a stronger, more transparent, and more accountable Montgomery County.

A special and heartfelt thank you goes to Aysha Akther, Kabir Patwary, Parveen Patwary, Bipul Gonsalves, Raju Mahajan, Kabirul Islam, my brothers, nieces, nephews, and my entire family. Throughout this journey, you stood by my side with unwavering faith, endless encouragement, heartfelt prayers, and countless sacrifices. You celebrated the victories, helped carry the burdens, and reminded me why service matters even during the most challenging moments. No campaign is ever the work of one person alone, and I am deeply humbled by the love, strength, and support you gave so freely. This journey belongs to all of us, and I will forever cherish your belief in me and in the movement we built together.

Your unwavering support, sacrifices, encouragement, and belief in me carried me through some of the most challenging moments of this journey. I will forever be grateful for your friendship, trust, and commitment.

To my family, thank you for sharing me with this campaign and this community. Public service often requires sacrifices from those closest to us, and I know this journey demanded much from all of you.

And finally, to my better half, my wife Nahid.

Thank you for standing beside me every step of the way.

Your patience, strength, wisdom, encouragement, and unconditional support made this journey possible. Through every long day, every late night, every challenge, and every moment of uncertainty, you remained my source of strength and inspiration.

No words can adequately express how grateful I am for your love and sacrifice.

While this campaign has come to an end, our work has not.

We will continue to speak the truth and speak truth to power.

We will continue to stand up for those whose voices are too often ignored.

We will continue to advocate for the voiceless and fight for those who cannot fight for themselves.

We will continue to work towards Montgomery County, where every resident feels seen, heard, respected, and represented.

Because a single election does not define movements.

Movements are defined by the people who believe in them, the values they stand for, and the lives they touch.

The relationships we built, the conversations we started, and the hope we inspired will continue long after the ballots have been counted.

  • Tonight, we are disappointed, but we are not discouraged.
  • We are humbled, but we are not defeated.
  • We are grateful, hopeful, and more committed than ever to serving our community.
  • With the blessings, encouragement, and prayers we received from every corner of Montgomery County, across our nation, and around the world, we leave the rest in Allah’s hands.

As we close this chapter, I do so with a heart full of gratitude.

  • I am proud of the campaign we ran.
  • I am proud of the values we upheld.
  • I am proud of the movement we built together.
  • Most importantly, I am proud of every one of you.
  • Thank you for believing in me.
  • Thank you for believing in this vision.
  • Thank you for believing that positive change is possible.

May Allah bless each and every one of you, may He bless Montgomery County, the great State of Maryland, and the United States of America. May He strengthen our democracy, protect our freedoms, unite our communities, inspire us all to continue serving one another with compassion, integrity, and hope, and guide us toward a future that is more just, more compassionate, and more united for all.

With gratitude and humility,

Radwan Chowdhury
