As a first-generation immigrant and person of faith, Radwan understands firsthand the challenges and aspirations that define the American promise—opportunity, fairness, and the ability to build a better future for the next generation.
Montgomery County is one of the most diverse counties in the nation, where nearly one in three residents is foreign-born, according to the most recent census data. This diversity is a defining strength—but it also requires leadership that reflects, understands, and actively represents the communities it serves.
For too long, many residents—immigrant families, working households, seniors, and underrepresented communities—have felt unheard in the decisions that shape their daily lives. True representation is not just about who sits at the table, but whether those voices translate into meaningful policy outcomes.
If elected, Radwan would be proud to become:
- The first Bangladeshi American
- The first-generation Asian American
to serve on the Montgomery County Council.
But this campaign is not about symbolism—it is about building a county government that looks like its people, listens to its communities, and delivers results that improve everyday life.
This campaign is not about symbolism, Radwan believes inclusive representation means:
- Ensuring immigrant communities have a voice in policymaking, language access, and public services
- Advancing equity in education, housing, healthcare, and economic opportunity
- Building trust through transparency, accessibility, and culturally competent governance
- Creating pathways for civic participation so every resident feels seen, heard, and valued
Representation must reflect lived experience—but it must also deliver measurable outcomes. Radwan’s commitment is to bridge that gap: turning representation into action, and diversity into a driving force for better governance, stronger communities, and shared prosperity across the entire county.
Why He’s Running
Montgomery County has all the ingredients to lead again — talent, diversity, innovation, and civic pride.
What it needs now is leadership that delivers:
- Affordability that reflects the full cost of living
- Growth that aligns with infrastructure
- A government that is transparent and accountable
- An economy that is competitive and resilient
Radwan’s campaign is built on a simple promise:
The government should work as effectively as the people it serves.
Radwan Chowdhury County Council At-Large, Candidate
THE BLUEPRINT: Raising the Standard of Local Government in Montgomery County Montgomery County is the only place Radwan has ever called home in America. Like many families here, he came seeking opportunity, stability, and a community where hard work mattered. But today: • Home prices are rising faster than wages • Infrastructure is not keeping pace with growth • Federal workforce instability threatens economic security • School achievement gaps persist • Everyday costs are increasing • Budget transparency remains insufficient • Development decisions are eroding public trust Despite our extraordinary talent and diversity, Montgomery County is becoming less affordable and less competitive. The path we are on is unsustainable. Radwan is running for County Council At-Large because Montgomery County needs a fresh breath of air — new thinking, disciplined leadership, and transparent governance that earns trust rather than assuming it. We must move beyond symbolic politics and toward accountable governance that delivers measurable results. Good government is not loud — it is effective.
